“The Holy Grail (that is the Brand) lies in something in which you create intangible value that then becomes tangible. A brand is trust”.    BrandWeek Magazine

It’s so true that value always begins with the intangible… think quantum physics and the ‘Law Of Attraction’, popularized over the last 10 years. Your brand is just this… a situation where you have the opportunity to create extremely cost effective intangible value, in the form of YOU inc. and what you have to offer to assist others to:

  • Achieve their goals
  • Be happier
  • Overcome an obstacle

Once you realize what the intangible value is within YOU inc., you must expose it, and grow it and protect it, all the while ensuring that ‘IT’ (the value) is recognizable, trustworthy and desireable to others.

This intangible value that you offer soon becomes tangible for those who trust you, engage with you and eventually purchase from you. The intangible value of your ‘brand’ also becomes tangible to YOU in the form of revenue and an increased following and client base. And so the cycle goes. Can you see why you need to build a strong personal brand and NOW?

When defining your online personal brand, give thought to:

  • Your Audience : Similar to a target market in corporate branding
  • Their Need
  • Comparison :Who will your audience compare you to?
  • Unique Strengths : What do you bring to the table that is unique? What are your brand promises?
  • Reasons Why: Why will your audience believe you can deliver on your promise?
  • Brand Character: What is your brand personality? This will be an authentic reflection of YOU!!

Brand development is pivotal to the success of ANY business, offline or online. Have fun with it.

In our eagerness to win people over in the world of network marketing and our personal lives, we sometimes have this mistaken notion that we must put all our efforts into doing anything to win their friendship or make them see what we think is the 'best thing since sliced bread'.

Truth is, you can never say the 'wrong thing' to the right person and you can never say the 'right thing' to the wrong person. In other words, if someone resonates with you and what you have to offer, nothing will stop them (even you saying the wrong thing!) and if a person is not in the frame of mind or doesn't resonate at all, then you could offer them a bucket of hundred dollar notes (bills) and they wouldn't be able to see the value! People were built differently and have a history that they bring to the conversation at the moment you call them, which is why we develop certain kinds of relationships with people at different times in our lives. This goes for 'selling' or as you should be doing, 'presenting'.

We need to know that there are some things in life we cannot change. Instead, you simply have to stop focusing on the negative and learn to harness all our energy knowing the positive. Joel Osteen, the world's leading inspirational speaker, urges all of us to believe in ourselves and to know our worth. People oozing with confidence become the more popular ones simply because they inspire the others around them to be the same upbeat individual. For network marketers, this means developing a confident air of expectation about our calls to prospects. If it doesn't turn out, it was just the wrong time or perhaps the wrong person, or both! Don't take it personally.

The secret to winning people over is to exude a positive aura and confidence. When we become happy with whom we are, we'll soon see people flocking in our corner of the room. It's all a matter of communicating our inner glow and of believing in our ability to make others feel good.

Pressure plays a big part in making ourselves feel that we must make that sale. When we force ourselves to become someone else, we tend to radiate insincerity. Our physical outlook is inconsequential here. In the end, it's when we speak from within and believe in what we are saying, prospects start to perceive what we see in ourselves and are more likely to want to be part of what we do (remember people DON'T buy objects, they buy 'people'…you need to sell yourself)

Developing great people skills and a successful network marketing business is simply a matter of outlook. We need to work on the skills that are already innate in us and find ways to enhance these skills. Our personality traits are neither good nor bad. When it comes to who we are, we shouldn't see things in black and white. We are born with these traits, and it's just difficult to let go of some of these because they have become habits.

Remember as network marketers, what matters most in how we deal with every conversation and our ability to become flexible in responding to our prospect's situation. There's a fine line between flexibility and change, but what sets these two apart is the willingness to adjust to another person but at the same time, not forget who we truly are. Now that's flexibility!

When the Cheshire cat gave the rabbit rose-colored glasses in one scene from Alice in Wonderland, he simply wanted the rabbit to see the world in an affirmative light. Seeing the world through the eyes of an idealist isn't necessarily a bad thing.

After all, it is in being positive that we can truly learn what our strengths are and how we can improve ourselves. If this is how we approach our personal lives as well as our businesses, we are on the track to the top, because we stand out from the crowd of network marketers still trying to actively 'sell' to people.

Hi There, One of the great myths behind success has always been that you need education in some form to achieve it. One of the powerful reasons  home business and working from home has become such a boon of late is because it is accessible at a high end level to anyone, irrespective of their level of education or their success otherwise. Let’s be clear,  education is important. For goodness sakes, I have degrees in formal education…  and there is the defining point..’formal education’. I soon learned that my formal education was not going to contribute to my success in [...]
